    INGREDIENT FOR HUMAN PERFORMANCE

The concepts of Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS) and Muscle Protein Breakdown (MPB) are well known among avid athletes. It is the interplay between the two that determines if muscle is gained or lost.

Recently it was discovered that orally ingested Phosphatidic Acid (PA), when accompanied with mechanical stress on muscle and adequate protein intake, significantly activates the Mammalian Target of Rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway.

mTOR regulates protein synthesis, whereby ingested protein is translated into new muscle. That’s MPS. New scientific evidence suggests that PA may even reduce MPB.

Mediator® Phosphatidic Acid (PA), our branded and patented ingredient compound, was demonstrated in a university study to provide double the muscle mass gain, increased strength, and double the fat mass loss in individuals engaged in weight bearing exercise and who consumed adequate protein.

    RESEARCH

The science supporting Phosphatidic Acid relates to signaling by the mechanism known as the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), which scientists believe is necessary for mechanical load-induced growth of skeletal muscle (muscular hypertrophy) and consequent strength gain. Many published studies indicate that the lipid messenger PA plays a critical role in this mechanical activation of mTOR signaling, and thus mTOR is currently a hot button of research.

To date, we have conducted a vast amount of research validating Mediator® Phosphatidic Acid (PA) as safe and efficacious. In addition, PA is naturally found in small amounts in foods, and it is a legal dietary supplement ingredient and is not a banned substance.

Two published research studies prove that the consumption of Mediator® Phosphatidic Acid, combined with resistance exercise, appears to have a positive benefit on strength improvement and muscle mass development in young subjects.

The first study showed that subjects ingesting PA demonstrated a 12.7% increase in squat strength and a 2.6% increase in lean body mass (LBM), while subjects consuming the placebo showed a 9.3% improvement in squat strength and a 0.1% change in LBM.

The second study found that subjects consuming Mediator® PA saw double the muscle mass gain, increased strength, and double the fat mass compared to the individuals consuming the placebo.
