"Fitness is a marathon, not a sprint, and there is no finish line. Quick results diminish as fast as they came. This is a lifelong pursuit so make sure to treat it as such and laugh along the way." -Wil Del Pizzo, Fitness Educator & Trainer
I am born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles, California. I played football, baseball and ran track in high school and this is where the seed was planted into me about strength and conditioning. I graduated from California State University, Northridge and got a “business card” job but I always continued to lift in the gym and push my body.
I eventually left the corporate world and became a personal trainer which help combined my love for fitness and the satisfaction of making a positive impact on people’s lives. It sounds like a cliché but I wasn’t joining the fitness profession for the money or even any internet fame and recognition. I wanted, and still want, to help make the world just a little better than yesterday and I found that health and fitness was the avenue in which I can do that.
I soon became one of the Strength Coaches for the Chatsworth High School Baseball Team which is nationally recognized as one of the top baseball programs in the nation and this is where I found that I can make the most impact. It was not about lifting heavy weights, but more about being a role model and helping to build the next generation of athletes and men. This experience, and my wife’s encouragement, lead up to open Built Strong Strength Club where we can bring strength and conditioning to everyone where we can encourage everyone to "Build Your Athlete."
